Southampton 2-1 Bournemouth: Dusan Tadic scores twice to earn Saints huge win

A Dusan Tadic double earned Southampton a crucial 2-1 victory over Bournemouth at St Mary's to move them to within a point of Premier League safety.
Southampton took the lead in the 25th minute after a swift counter, with Tadic finishing off the move in style to net his fifth league goal of the season, before Josh King slammed the ball into the roof of the net to level on the stroke of half-time.
However, that equaliser failed to swing the momentum in Bournemouth's favour, and Tadic soon had the hosts back in front, brilliantly firing into the bottom corner with the outside of his boot in the 54th minute.
Southampton were forced to hang on in stoppage time, with Alex McCarthy making some crucial saves in the home goal, but they saw out a vital first win in nine league games to move them to within a point of Swansea in 17th. Bournemouth drop to 12th, six clear of the bottom three.

After a cagey opening, Saints started to commit more bodies forward, and almost took the lead 14 minutes in, but Nathan Redmond and then Oriol Romeu saw their strikes blocked in the box.

However, the nervous St Mary's masses did not have to wait long for that opener as Tadic struck. Bournemouth had the corner, Saints countered, Mario Lemina's pace took him clear, Saints had two on one, Lemina delayed and delayed, before threading the perfect pass into Tadic, who slotted into the bottom corner.

Lemina then saw a fine effort well saved by Asmir Begovic in the away goal, before McCarthy brilliantly denied Nathan Ake down the other end. One lapse in concentration, however, saw the hosts concede at a crucial moment, as King arrived unchallenged at the back post to fire home.

After the break, Saints maintained their attacking impetus and soon retook the lead. Steve Cook tried to bring the ball down on his chest, Tadic nipped in, strode clear of Cook, had options either side, but used the runs as decoys, creating space for him to brilliantly steer the ball into the net with the outside of his boot.
Southampton then missed two glorious chances to put the game to bed through substitute Shane Long and Redmond, before McCarthy stepped up when called upon late in the day.
Firstly, he did superbly to stick out a leg to deny Jermain Defoe, before saving his best for last, clawing out Ryan Fraser's strike - virtually the last kick of the game - to ensure Saints' hopes of preserving their Premier League status were given a huge boost.

Unai Emery to leave Paris Saint-Germain at end of season

Unai Emery has announced he will leave French champions Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.
Despite leading the club to its fifth league title in six years, Emery will step down from his role as head coach after the decision was made not to renew the two-year deal he signed when he arrived from Sevilla in 2016.
A statement from Emery read: "I have communicated to the players that I am leaving.
"I thank president Nasser Al Khelaifi, the director of sport Antero Henrique, the supporters and all the players for these two seasons."
PSG disappointed in Europe once more this term, failing to progress beyond the last 16 of the Champions League after losing to holders Real Madrid, despite a summer of huge transfer spending.
Neymar's arrival from Barcelona for a world-record transfer fee of £200m, combined with the deal to sign Kylian Mbappe from Monaco worth in the region of £166m, meant PSG were among the favourites for Europe's elite competition.
During his two-year spell at the Parc des Princes, Emery has won the league and three domestic cups, with a fourth on the horizon against third division side Les Herbies in the final of the Coupe de France on May 8.

Patrick Vieira welcomes talk of a return to Arsenal as replacement for Arsene Wenger

Patrick Vieira has welcomed talk of a return to Arsenal as a replacement for manager Arsene Wenger, who is standing down at the end of the season.
The former Gunners midfielder is currently in charge of New York City and has led them to the top of the Eastern Conference in MLS after their best ever start to a season.
His work in America - and the fact his contract expires in November - has led to suggestions he could be in the frame to replace Wenger at the Emirates.
When asked about a potential return to Arsenal, Vieira told The Times: "I know what people are saying, and I'm really happy about that.
"It's an honour to be mentioned with Arsenal - I love the club. I played my best football there and made my name in the game.
"I am always going to have a deeper relationship with Arsenal. That is not enough to coach that team but I'm ready to coach any side in Europe.
"I don't want this to be perceived that I want to go because I don't want to leave. But, if the question is as simple as: "Are you ready to manage any teams in Europe?", then I would say: "Yes. I am ready."
Vieira was brought to Arsenal by Wenger in 1996, and won three Premier League titles and three FA Cups before departing the club nine years later.
The 41-year-old believes his former boss still has a future in the game, and also criticised some of the treatment Wenger has received from Arsenal fans.
He said: "I think it is hard with the way he has been treated. I do understand that fans can get frustrated but they forget about yesterday. Fans live in the moment but that's the world we are living in.
"Arsene has been there for 22 years but how many times did he have the opportunity to go to coach bigger names than Arsenal yet never did because his priority was Arsenal? Sometimes fans forget that.
"I don't see him retiring at all. I think he's still got the energy, love and passion to stay in the game. It was time maybe at Arsenal but I'm sure that he can rebuild something, somewhere."

Manchester City monitoring defender Lucas Halter

Lucas Halter is attracting interest from Premier League champions Manchester City

Manchester City are monitoring the progress of Brazilian defender Lucas Halter, Sky Sports News understands.
The 17-year-old, who has attracted the interest of a number of Europe's top clubs, currently plays for Atletico Paranaense in the Brazilian Serie A.
Halter was part of the Brazil squad that finished in third place at the 2017 U17 FIFA World Cup after being knocked out by England at the semi-final stage.
If Halter does move to the Etihad Stadium, he will join a growing contingent of Brazilians with senior internationals Ederson, Gabriel Jesus, Fernandinho and Danilo already at the club.
City have also insisted defender John Stones will not be allowed to leave the club in the summer.
The England international has not featured for the recently crowned Premier League champions since returning from international duty to an abductor injury.
City have said Stones remains firmly part of Pep Guardiola's plans moving forward and will be part of the squad aiming to defend the title next season.

Patrick Vieira dismisses Arsene Wenger successor at Arsenal talk

Patrick Vieira says it is flattering to be considered as Arsene Wenger’s successor at Arsenal but insists he is “happy” at New York City.

Wenger announced on Friday he will be leaving the club at the end of the season after 22 years in charge, and had previously suggested former midfielder Vieira "has the potential" to succeed him as manager. But Vieira, who won three Premier League titles under Wenger, is enjoying life in his third season in the MLS.

"I spent nine years at Arsenal which makes the club really special for me," he told New York radio station WNYE.

"But that is not enough to coach the team."I am always flattered to hear my name linked with different football clubs. That is good for your ego but at the same time, I am happy here.

"We will see what will happen in the next couple of years."

Richard Garlick to leave West Brom to become Premier League director of football

West Brom have announced the club's director of football Richard Garlick is leaving to become the Premier League's first director of football.
The 41-year-old departs after eight years at The Hawthorns, during which time he also held posts as legal director/secretary and technical director.
Garlick will remain in his post during the summer and is determined to help West Brom, who are bottom of the Premier League, prepare for a potential major overhaul if they are relegated.
Speaking about his new role, Garlick said: "It's an opportunity that is impossible to turn down and one I am very excited to be taking.
"But of course I am very conscious that I will be leaving Albion at the lowest point we have experienced in my eight years here and that is not something I lightly dismiss.
"Albion has become my second home and come to mean everything to me and my family as the club built a successful period of growth within the Premier League.
"It's always been a challenge but it is one I have relished every day and to be leaving it at this moment is not easy.
"All I can say is that we are all keenly aware there is a major 'rebirth' to be planned this summer and I will do everything I can to help that process before I move on."
West Brom chief executive Mark Jenkins confirmed he attempted to persuade Garlick to stay at the club.
"I have tried to persuade Richard to stay but the opportunity the Premier League have offered him is one anyone would find difficult to turn away," said Jenkins.
"He leaves us with our very best wishes in his new post. We will be sorry to see him go as he has been an invaluable member of our senior team for a long time.
"But Richard will play a leading role in helping us through some very important decisions in the remaining weeks of his duties. He will continue to work closely with Technical Consultant Giuliano Terraneo and myself on the important challenges we will be tackling.
"I want to assure supporters that we remain determined to take an opportunity this summer to re-launch the club into a new and positive era."
Garlick's new role will see him oversee the primary football administration functions at the Premier League, including football operations, football relations, youth development, coaching and young player education.
Premier League executive chairman Richard Scudamore said: "We are very happy to have secured a person with Richard's knowledge and experience to take on this vital role at the Premier League.
"He is well known to the clubs and respected by all."

Chelsea's opening-day defeat to Burnley hinted at problems to come under Antonio Conte

As Chelsea prepare to face Burnley live on Sky Sports at Turf Moor on Thursday, we recall how their opening day defeat to Sean Dyche's side at Stamford Bridge set the tone for their Premier League title defence.
The 3-2 loss - in which Chelsea conceded three first-half goals and had Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas sent off - saw Antonio Conte's side become only the second defending champions in Premier League history to lose their opening game of the campaign.
Nine months on, with Chelsea fifth in the table and 27 points behind champions Manchester City, here's how the issues evident on the opening day have undermined their campaign…

Transfer troubles

The season to a backdrop of tension between Conte and the board. Chelsea had allowed John Terry to leave and sold Nemanja Matic to Manchester United - with Conte describing the latter as a "great loss" in an interview with Sky Sports - while the previous season's top scorer Diego Costa was exiled from the squad.
Conte felt Chelsea had not offered him enough backing in the transfer market and he made his frustrations clear with his team selection against Burnley, naming Jeremie Boga in the starting line-up and fellow youngsters Fikayo Tomori, Charly Musonda, Kenedy and Kyle Scott among the substitutes.
Conte had already missed out on Romelu Lukaku, who had opted for Manchester United, and Chelsea would also prove unsuccessful in their efforts to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal, Alex Sandro from Juventus, and Fernando Llorente from Swansea.
Top targets did not arrive and those who did could not improve the squad. Alvaro Morata has been unable to fill the Costa void, scoring just 11 Premier League goals so far, while fellow summer signings Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Davide Zappacosta and Danny Drinkwater have all struggled.
Olivier Giroud has impressed in patches since his January arrival from Arsenal, scoring a match-winning double in Chelsea's 3-2 win over Southampton at the weekend, but Chelsea's other mid-season signings, Ross Barkley and Emerson Palmieri, have played just 69 Premier League minutes between them.

Ill-discipline

Conte accused his players of "losing their heads" after the Burnley game, with Cahill - a pillar of the 2016/17 title win - seeing red for a reckless lunge on Steven Defour after 14 minutes and Fabregas receiving his second booking for a late foul on Jack Cork in the closing stages.
Conte pointed out that Chelsea had also been shown red cards in the FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal at the end of the previous season and in the Community Shield loss to the same team a week earlier, adding: "I have to study formations with 10 and nine players because when this happens so regularly, you must be worried."
Conte was right to be worried. Ill-discipline has become a recurring theme of Chelsea's season. The Blues only received two red cards last season - neither of which came in the Premier League - but they are already up to seven in the current campaign. It is more than any other Premier League side and it has contributed to the chaos surrounding their season.

Defensive issues

Chelsea's back three of Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz and Cahill was fundamental to their success last season but the defeat to Burnley in August highlighted a new vulnerability, as they became the first defending champions in Premier League history to concede three or more goals on the opening day.
Cahill's sending off set the tone for his poor season, in which he has lost his place in the England squad, while David Luiz, who was named alongside Cahill in the 2016/17 PFA Team of the Year, also endured a torrid afternoon. The Brazil defender was at fault for Burnley's first and third goals, failing to pick up Sam Vokes from routine crosses.
It was the beginning of the end for Luiz under Conte. He kept his place in the side for the opening weeks of the season, but since being dropped for Andreas Christensen in Chelsea's 1-0 win over Manchester United in November, he has only made one Premier League start, with a knee injury adding to his difficulties.
Christensen has impressed for the most part, but with their new-look defence, Chelsea have already been breached as many times as they were in the whole of last season. The problems that were apparent against Burnley have continued throughout the campaign.

Striker question

The Burnley game also hinted at Chelsea's issues at the top of the pitch. With Morata not yet up to speed and Costa frozen out, Michy Batshuayi was selected to start. The Belgian had struggled to convince Conte in the previous season and that theme continued at Stamford Bridge on the opening day.
Batshuayi was withdrawn on the hour-mark after an ineffectual display, and he would only start two further Premier League games before departing on loan to Borussia Dortmund midway through the campaign. His replacement against Burnley, Morata, marked his debut with a goal and went on to score six more in his next six appearances, but he has struggled for consistency since then.
The Spain international went over three months without a Premier League goal between December and April, with Chelsea forced to dip back into the transfer market for Giroud in January. The France striker provided vital goals at St Mary's Stadium on Saturday, but from the opening day to now, the feeling remains that Chelsea's attack is weaker without Costa.

WHAT’S A LIVE CASINO AND WHAT CAN PLAYERS EXPECT?

With a live casino, players can count on the ‘next best thing’ to a physical casino experience. The introduction of a live casino feature addresses players’ need for convenience, authenticity and excitement. In a live casino set-up, there is a human dealer that facilitates the casino action in real time, straight from a casino table. Interested casino players can check out and participate in the games through a live streaming feed, and this is the same technology used by the casino dealer to interact with the players located in different parts of the world. Betting decisions are channeled through a computer screen, and real-time communication is facilitated using the site’s chat function.

The physical transactions completed by the dealer, including the results of a Roulette wheel spin, Craps or dealing of cards for Baccarat are then translated into data which can be processed by an Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology. This ensures that casino players off-site can participate in a live game, where results are produced and processed in real time. To heighten the casino excitement, casino operators often maintain a separate lobby for its live casino offering, featuring different variations of Live Roulette, Live Blackjack, Live Baccarat and Live Casino Hold’em. To maximize player engagement, operators will schedule the games, and information about the next games are advertised in real time in the lobby.

Kyle Walker says England need a 'miracle' to win World Cup in Russia

Kyle Walker admits England need a “miracle” to win the World Cup in Russia because the players lack experience on the world stage.

The 27-year-old has been a key component of Manchester City's Premier League title-winning season following his summer arrival from Tottenham and helped Gareth Southgate's men earn automatic qualification from Group F, after an unbeaten campaign.

Walker was part of the disappointing exit to Iceland at Euro 2016 in France and says their inexperience on the world stage means both players and managers need to be realistic about their chances.
